The Horse whisperer review

Kristin Scott Thomas plays Annie, a businesswoman, who is the textbook version of a control freak, she has a lawyer husband (Sam Neill), that she does not particularly care for, a daughter (Scarlett Johanssen) that she tries loosely to sculpt into a respectable woman like herself.

Immediately after seeing her interact with her employes, with her husband, and daughter, you can feel the hatred for this Annie - she is using everybody, she is not happy, and she is constantly putting everybody into stress. She is actually a bully - using all possible tricks in the book, to get what she wants, but she does not even know what it is.

Her daughter Grace is riding horse, his name is Pilgrim and she goes early in the morning to meet her friend Judith, they talk like teenagers about boys,  and parties, and then there is this accident, a terrible accident - that is the turning point in this story - as this will set the courses for redemption.

Pilgrim is terribly injured, her daughter is amputated.

Annie is now determined to fight, while her husband wants things to calm down, take their normal courses and heal slowly. She is collecting all literature she can get about horses, traumatic injury, etc ... and then she reads about a special gift that some men have to talk to horses.

That is when Annie contact Tom Booker the Horse whisperer - and for the first time, this man stands up for himself and won't accept to be bullied by Annie. Tom simply won't put up with her stress and pressure, he just says "No" to her.

Of course, Annie is then completely decided to see this Horse's whisperer.

Long story short, Tom heals the horse and falls in love with Annie
Annie is reciprocating, but she is still married, but she is undecided and still kind of want to be with Tom.

His husband Robert has this very noble speech - where basically he told her that he loves her, and give her this deal - "Take all the time you need, but when you come back (if you do) this story has to be over"

What has Annie learned in the end?
she got sacked, she fell in love, she is back with her family
transformed maybe she will now relax a bit

What has Tom Booker learned in the end?
Women are trouble, they come and go in your life and break your heart

What is the overall message of this movie?
Control freak need to relax and should not wait for an accident to occur to realize how beautiful life is
