Skipping College to Be TikTok Famous

Gen Z Followers following ...  Gen Z Internet celebrity what could possibly go wrong?!

With motto like 'The feed must be fed.' and 'The worse feeling is to become irrelevant.'

The relationship between Gen Z influencers and their followers usually is complex and sometimes even toxic, in the age of tik tok and instagram and the constant demand for attention and validation. This dynamic can create a pressure-filled environment where the influencer feels compelled to go to extreme lengths to maintain popularity and gain views.

Influencers rely heavily on their fan base for success. Followers play a crucial role in supporting their favorite artists by watching their livestream, purchasing their merchandise, and posting back and force, reblogging, tweeting, etc ...
In return, followers expect a personal connection and engagement from the influencer. And that is the big fantasy on social media platforms: the unspoken expectation, as followers now have direct access to their idols and can communicate with them instantly. But let's be honest, it will rarely happens.

With this level of accessibility, in many scenario it will lead to an unhealthy relationship. Followers may become possessive, obsessed.
They may develop unrealistic expectations of constant interaction and validation from their idol, demanding attention and a personal connection at all times.

In response to this pressure, some influencers may feel compelled to push themselves to the extreme. They may engage in attention-seeking behaviors, controversial stunts, or risky activities solely to maintain relevance, gain views, and keep their fan base engaged. This can result in a cycle of constantly pushing boundaries and seeking validation from the followers, which can be mentally and emotionally draining for them.

The pressure to meet unrealistic standards of beauty, talent, and behavior can lead to anxiety, depression, and even self-destructive behavior.
Some online artists may feel trapped within this toxic cycle, feeling that they must continually push themselves to the limit to maintain their fame and avoid disappointing their followers.

In conclusion, the relationship between Internet celebrities and their followers may become toxic when unrealistic expectations, constant demands, and the pressure for views and popularity come into play.

Spoiler alert, worst case scenario it gets bad, best case scenario the Internet celebrity grows out of it.
