Lebanon’s economic crisis explained

There has been no president for a year, a political deadlock exists in parliament, and banks have prevented people from withdrawing their own money.

There are other countries in a state of collapse, and there are parallels between the turmoil in these  nations.

The root cause of this chaos is deep-seated corruption.

It's disheartening to realize that the real culprits often flee to stable, wealthy countries, depositing their ill-gotten gains in Swiss or UK banks.

This money, stolen from millions of hardworking individuals, leaves behind a trail of despair that drives people to desperate measures.

Currently, escalating poverty is posing a threat to even the wealthiest countries.

Consequently, most refugees who manage to cross borders and establish themselves are likely to confront harsh realities.

The world, therefore, needs an increase in compassion and humanity.
